Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, Notification, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) – 2013 will be conducted by the JEE Apex Board for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc. Now, AIEEE will be known as JEE (Main) and IIT – JEE as JEE (Advanced).

Instructions and Procedure for Online Application Form JEE (Main) – 2013

1. Please read the instructions and procedures carefully before you start filling the form.
2. Candidates of JEE (Main) – 2013 have to apply online only.
3. Please ensure that you are filling genuine application form available online at JEE (Main) website (www.jeemain.nic.in).
4. Please ensure your eligibility as per the criteria laid down for JEE (Main) as well as JEE (Advanced).
5. Examination Fees (Calculate Exam Fee)
The fee (in Indian Rupees) for JEE(Main)-2013 is as follows:

Note: (1)In case the examination fee is paid through credit/debit cards, the candidates will need to pay an additional processing charge of 1.20% of the examination fee plus the service tax as applicable.(2) Candidates who wish to appear in Paper-1 and Paper-2 both, may kindly note that Paper-2 will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. If they opt for Paper-1 in Computer based examination mode, the Paper-1 will be held between 08.04.2013 and 25.04.2013 while Paper-2 will be held on 07.04.2013 in the cities for computer based examination during 02:00-05:00PM.
6. Candidates are allowed to submit only one application form. Multiple applications of a candidate are liable to be rejected.
7. The name in the application form must be the same as in class Xth pass certificate.
8. The fee may be submitted either by credit/debit card or through Demand Draft. In case of Demand Draft, the same may be made in favour of Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi.
9. In case the payment is made through Demand Draft, please mention your Computer generated Application Number and name on the reverse side of Demand Draft.
10. The computer generated Confirmation Page with photograph pasted, address written and signed by the candidate and his/her parent must reach the JEE (Main) office on or before 26th December 2012. The completed Confirmation Page must be sent only by registered/speed post to the Executive Director, JEE (Main) – 2013 at the given below address:Executive Director

11. After submission of an application no options can be changed at a later stage.
12. All correspondence related to JEE (Main) – 2013 should be addressed to the Executive Director, JEE (Main).
13. The application no. printed on the computer generated Confirmation Page must be mentioned in all such correspondences. It is therefore essential to note down the application number printed on the Confirmation Page.
14. Application fee once paid is non-refundable.

The admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions shall include the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). The JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
For admission to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) like IIITs etc. and other participating Institutions, the merit/rank list shall be prepared based on 40% weightage to school Boards marks in class 12th or equivalent examination and 60% weightage to JEE(Main). The weightage to school Board/Equivalent examination marks shall be considered only after normalization.
Mode of Examination
The Paper-1 (described below) of JEE (Main) will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. Offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and Online (Computer Based Examination) mode. The Paper-2 of JEE (Main) will be conducted only in Pen and Paper based examination mode. A candidate will opt for either Pen and Paper Based or Computer Based examination modes for Paper-1 only.
